Weed Problem	Avadex Excel 15G timing	Herbicide sequence
Wild oat	From pre-emergence of crop to 2 leaf stage of wild oat.	No sequence required for wild oats. If other weeds present, choose a sequence product according to known weed spectrum of field.
Barren Brome	Before or at crop emergence but before emergence of brome.	Select sequence product from barren brome section, taking account of other weeds controlled.* See page 9.
Blackgrass	Immediately after drilling or early post-emergence but before weed emergence. Emerged weeds will require a sequential herbicide.	Select sequence product from blackgrass section, taking account of other weeds to be controlled. See below.
Broad-leaved weeds	Pre or early post-emergence of crop - preferably before weed emergence.	Product choice will be dictated by grass weed problem. Follow up according to species present.

Where control is required of moderate to heavy populations of blackgrass barren brome (also known as sterile brome) and annual broad-leaved weeds in addition to wild oats, Avadex Excel 15G may be used in sequence with any one of the following products when applied to the varieties and at the dose and timing recommended on their label.

The application of Avadex Excel 15G may be pre-emergence or post-emergence and may precede or succeed the sequential product as appropriate.

Pre or post-emergence
Trifluralin.

Post-emergence
Autumn Kite, Javelin*, Panther, Trump, Dosaflo*, Lexus, Atlantis.

Products containing chlorotoluron, diflufenican + isoproturon, pendimethalin + IPU, fenoxaprop and clodinafop, pendimethalin + picolinafen, diflufenican + flurtamone.

*Should be applied post-emergence for specific control of barren (sterile) brome, which is controlled most effectively following a good stale seedbed, or mould-board ploughing.
